Are You Enjoying the Process?

Are you in such a hurry to reach your end result, your goal, that the part in between just completely frustrates you? Does it seem so hard you just want to quit?

 

Unfortunately, most of us get so caught up in planning and prepping our goals and steps to get there, we don't get to enjoy the actual process of carrying out those steps. We totally miss out on one of the best parts....the experience!!!!

 

We let the challenges stop us instead of realizing that the challenges change & grow us!!!

 

This is what I do...I walk along side women like you, as they figure out what's getting in the way of them and their goals and learn how to change it.

 

The action steps toward our goals is where we learn & grow, & fail, & learn & grow & fail some more. We don't give ourselves the opportunity to be proud of our hard work or learn from our errors and backslides. We just keep rushing to get to where we want to be. We don't ask God for guidance or we do, but then don't listen to Him. 

 

Proverbs 16:3 "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established."

 

If you're trying to lose weight, grow spiritually, improve your self esteem,.....the process is important because it includes all the actual action steps, changes, and decisions, you'll make to reach your end goal. Some of the steps you take may be wrong or slightly out of alignment. Knowing this helps you learn what works for you and what doesn't work for you. This will be so valuable, to you, when setting future goals.

 

I know, from years of exercising, that I don't like exercising 6 or 7 days a week. My history shows I do a better job of committing to a plan if it's only 4-5 days a week instead. So, I tend to commit to 4 or 5 days of exercising. I know this is doable for me, therefore, I'm much more likely to get the workouts finished. What if I had just given up when 7 days was too much???  I never would have learned what I am capable of and what does work for me and would probably not be exercising now.

 

1 Corinthians 10:31 "So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God."

 

The process allows you to look at the before, see the after, and embrace all of your hard work and personal growth in between. That hard work is something to be so proud of. You can look back and think, "I did it!!!!" You can inspire others!!!

 

So remember....the next time you want to give up or make excuses, pinpoint why, what's going on in you, what's getting in the way, & what do you need to change in order to reach that goal?????
