15 Simple Ways to Becoming a Better You Daily


The number one way to become a better you… quit believing the lies you’re telling yourself. That’s honestly the bottom line. Unfortunately, there’s not a magic wand to make that happen overnight. There are things we need to do, steps we need to take, to get there.

My insecurities go waaay back. You name it, I didn’t like it. And then, when I got married, and had kids, I felt like I was failing them, so it got even worse. Negativity had such a hold on me that there were days I didn’t even want to leave the house. I felt trapped in discouragement and defeat. It’s truly by God’s grace that I am who and where I am today. Finding this freedom opened a whole new world to me.

Don’t get me wrong…I still have my moments. I mean I’m human right? Freedom doesn’t mean it all goes away. It means my negative thoughts happen a whole lot less and when they do creep in, I have the tools to help me.

Here’s a few tools that help me when negative thoughts creep in…

  1. Pray! Pray! Pray!

  2. Get into Gods word

  3. Ask friends to pray for you

  4. Remind yourself of Gods truth of who you are

  5. A lot of positive self-talk

Becoming a better you is really all about building your personal & spiritual growth. Being intentional about creating habits that add value to your life and to who you are. Getting rid of things that don’t add value.

Ask yourself…

  1. Am I taking time for me each day?

  2. Do I spend time in prayer?

  3. Am I getting enough sleep?

  4. Do I take time to laugh?

  5. Am I moving/exercising on a regular basis?

  6. Do I know how/when to say no?

  7. Am I spending time with people who life me up?

  8. Do I spend regular time in God’s word?

  9. Am I drinking enough water?

  10. Do I know how/when to ask for help?

  11. Am I doing things I enjoy?

  12. Do I take time out alone?

  13. Am I taking time with friends?

  14. Do I feel burnt out?

If you find yourself answering no, more than yes, it’s time to make some changes towards becoming a better you.

Changing your personal & spiritual growth habits changes your perspective, the way you see yourself, the way you do things, and your interaction with others.

It helps you learn more about you and who/where you want to be.

15 simple ways to becoming a better you daily…

  1. Read your bible, pray, join a bible study, serve your church, find a church.

  2. Step out of your comfort zone. Try something new. This helps overcome fear & doubt

  3. Surround yourself with uplifting people, friends you can laugh, cry, & pray with

  4. Read, listen to podcasts... Personal development & Christian are my absolute favorites.

  5. Practice gratitude. Every day, thank God for at least one thing.

  6. Exercise/Move, drink plenty of water, get plenty of sleep.

  7. Take a technology break. Social media, phone, tv,….

  8. Declutter. Not motivated for this one, to be honest, but, it does help me feel better

  9. Create morning & evening routines. This makes your whole day better

  10. Celebrate your wins. There are no small wins. Everything should be celebrated

  11. Journal. Nothing fancy. Just jot down what’s going on, prayers, gratitude….

  12. Acknowledge & embrace your struggles. it’s these struggles that make us stronger.

  13. Show yourself grace. Nothing happens overnight so don’t be so hard on yourself

  14. Learn to say no, set up boundaries, & slow down. This is a BIGGIE and so important!

  15. Ditch the comparison game. There’s only one you!

Remember, it doesn’t happen overnight. Finding a solution to moving on from your struggles is necessary, so regardless of how the day goes, pick yourself up and keep going. What got you here, won’t get you where you want to be. Be patient.
