4 Practical Ways To Improve Your Mindset and Life
The mind is a pretty amazing thing. It believes what we tell it, and unfortunately, that’s not always a good thing, We have the opportunity to build ourselves up, to say nice things and pat ourselves on the back. But instead, we typically put ourselves down, cut ourselves no slack at all, replay negative thoughts and comments over and over…..allowing all of this to become our natural habit.
When I was younger I didn’t know there was another way to think. I didn’t know changing my thought process was possible. I struggled with social anxiety, what others thought, and having a negative, limiting mindset that left me feeling alone, discouraged, insecure, and paralyzed at times.
When I got older and started going to church, a whole new world opened up for me and I learned that all those negative thoughts were actually lies and that I could absolutely change my way of thinking. It took time and patience with myself but, I have found freedom from the self-doubt, fear, comparison, and mom guilt that I used to have me trapped.
Re-wiring or shifting your mindset is not a one and done quick fix. It’s something you must constantly work on.

Here's 4 Practical ways to improve your mindset and life
Fuel Your Faith: Learn what God says about you and your situation. Connecting with him and like-minded friends is a game changer. It will help you stay close to His view and plan instead of the worlds.
Get into Gods word
Surround yourself with like-minded friends
Serve at church
Fuel Your Body: This doesn’t mean you have to do a full blown 60-minute workout, unless that’s your jam. It could mean simply taking a walk
Eat well/Drink water
Keep up with doctor’s visits
Fuel Your Relationships: These are YOUR PEOPLE! The ones you turn to for prayer and encouragement. The ones who will also speak truth into you, what you NEED to hear and not just tell you what you WANT to hear.
Surround yourself with friends who lift you up
Learn to say no to things that won’t serve you well
Pray for your friends regularly & share your prayer needs with them
Encourage each other
Fuel Your Emotions: This takes time and practice, but can ABSOLUTELY be done. Be patient with yourself.
Focus on the good, rather than the bad
Learn and focus on your strengths over weaknesses
Enjoy the process & be proud of the progress you make
Speak words of encouragement to yourself, (ex. I can do this….)
Celebrate yourself for trying and embrace the wins, big and small
Realize that the past is the past. Shift your mind to see it as lessons, opportunities of growth,… (ex. What did it teach me, what did I learn from it…)

Learning to re-wire your mindset is incredibly freeing but as I said before, it takes time. Be patient with yourself, maybe even share your plan with someone for accountability, and remember, every step you take is a step closer to finding that freedom.
